Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information FingerLock ("we", "us", "our") collects when you visit or buy from this store, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. FingerLock sells to customers in the United States.
1. The short version
- We collect what we need to take your order, ship it, and support you afterwards.
- We never see or store your full card number. Payment is handled by our payment provider.
- We do not sell your personal information for money. We do use advertising cookies, which some US state laws classify as "sharing" or "targeted advertising" — you can opt out at any time.
- You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete your data by emailing support@getfingerlock.com.
2. Information you give us
- Order information — name, email address, shipping address, billing address, phone number (when required by the carrier), and the items you bought.
- Payment confirmation — we receive confirmation that payment succeeded, the payment method type, and the last digits of the card or the payer email. We do not receive or store full card numbers or security codes.
- Communications — anything you write to us by email, plus any photos or documents you send to support a return or a warranty claim.
- Marketing preferences — your email address if you subscribe to our newsletter.
3. Information we collect automatically
- Device and usage data — IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, time on page, and the links you click.
- Cookies and similar technologies — small files stored by your browser. See section 5.
- Order-related metadata — approximate location derived from IP, used for fraud screening and to show prices and shipping correctly.
We do not collect biometric data. The fingerprint you register in the product is stored only inside the product itself. It never reaches the bag's manufacturer, this store, or any server.
4. Why we use your information
- To process, ship, and confirm your order, and to keep you updated on its progress.
- To answer your questions, handle returns, refunds, and warranty claims.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and chargeback fraud.
- To comply with legal, tax, customs, and accounting obligations.
- To measure how the store performs and improve it.
- To show you relevant advertising, and to send you marketing emails if you asked for them. You can unsubscribe from any marketing email using the link at the bottom of it.
5. Cookies and tracking technologies
We use three broad categories:
- Strictly necessary — keep your cart working, keep you logged in during checkout, and protect against fraud. The store cannot function without them.
- Analytics — tell us which pages people visit and where they leave, in aggregate.
- Advertising — let us show ads on other platforms (such as Meta or Google) to people who visited this store, and let us measure whether those ads led to a sale.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, checkout will stop working.
6. Who we share your information with
We share only what each partner needs to do its job:
- Our e-commerce platform (Shopify) — hosts this store and processes orders on our behalf.
- Our payment provider — takes payment and handles refunds and disputes. Card data is handled by them under their own privacy policy.
- Our fulfillment and shipping partners — receive your name, address, phone number, and order contents so the parcel can be produced, cleared through customs, and delivered. This includes our fulfillment partner and the carrier assigned to your parcel.
- Analytics and advertising providers — receive pseudonymous identifiers and event data through cookies and pixels.
- Professional advisors and authorities — where required by law, or to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim.
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we never share your data with anyone who wants to market unrelated products to you.
7. International transfers
Our platform, payment, fulfillment, shipping and advertising providers operate in several countries. This means your information may be transferred outside your country of residence. We only work with partners that commit contractually to protect it.
8. How long we keep it
- Order records — kept for up to 7 years, because tax and accounting rules require it.
- Support emails — kept for up to 3 years after the conversation ends.
- Marketing subscriptions — kept until you unsubscribe, and deleted shortly afterwards.
- Analytics and advertising data — retention is set by each provider, typically between 90 days and 2 years.
9. How we protect it
The store runs over encrypted HTTPS connections. Payment data is handled entirely by our payment provider under PCI-DSS. Access to order data is limited to the people who need it to fulfill orders and answer support requests. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but if a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
10. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Confirm whether we hold personal information about you, and give you a copy of it.
- Correct information that is wrong or out of date.
- Delete your information, subject to records we are legally required to keep.
- Stop sending you marketing.
- Opt out of advertising cookies and targeted advertising.
Email support@getfingerlock.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity — usually by confirming details of an order you placed — before we act, so that we do not disclose your data to someone else.
11. Rights for US state residents
If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Texas, Utah, or Virginia, state law gives you specific rights over your personal information:
- Right to know / access — what categories of personal information we collected, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we disclosed it to.
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to delete personal information we hold about you.
- Right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, and of targeted advertising.
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not charge you a different price or give you worse service for exercising these rights.
- Right to appeal — if we refuse a request, you may reply to our decision and ask us to reconsider. If we still refuse, you may complain to your state Attorney General.
You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we will ask for proof of their authority.
Categories of personal information we have collected in the past 12 months: identifiers (name, email, address, phone, IP address); commercial information (products purchased and considered); internet activity (browsing and interaction with this store); geolocation data (approximate, derived from IP); and inferences drawn for advertising. We collect these from you directly and automatically through cookies. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information as defined by California law.
12. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We do not exchange your personal information for money. However, our use of advertising cookies may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" for targeted advertising under some US state laws. To opt out, use our Your privacy choices page.
We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends it, we treat it as an opt-out request for that browser and device automatically.
13. Children
This store is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we will delete it.
14. Links to other sites
Our store and our ads may link to sites we do not control. This policy does not cover them — please read theirs.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. The date at the top always shows the current version. If a change materially affects your rights, we will say so clearly on this page.
